Raising the professional training of the industry’s senior managers to a new level is the chief aim of the agreement “On cooperation in the field of continuing professional education”. It was signed by Vladimir Khodyrev, president of the Transport Union of the North-West, and Vladimir Shamakhov, director of the North-West Institute of Management, a branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
The agreement provides in particular for joint teaching and practical programmes involving prominent economists and specialists in transport organisation, in the design of logistics schemes and in the interaction of operators at the junctions of water and land routes. Lectures, seminars and round tables will be held at the institute for staff of road haulage companies, the sea and river fleet, road construction companies and others. Consultations are planned on the priorities for research in continuing professional education, together with the mutual exchange of research findings.
At the same time a programme of professional development courses was approved for senior and middle managers and chief specialists of transport companies in the North-Western Federal District.
